Code of Conduct
Our Pledge
We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in the NoTap community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.
Our Standards
Positive Behavior
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment:
β Using welcoming and inclusive language
β Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
β Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
β Focusing on what is best for the community
β Showing empathy towards other community members
β Giving credit where credit is due
β Being patient with newcomers
β Helping others learn and grow
Unacceptable Behavior
Examples of unacceptable behavior:
β The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances
β Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
β Public or private harassment
β Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
β Conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
β Dismissing or attacking inclusion-oriented requests
β Sustained disruption of discussions or events
Enforcement Responsibilities
Community leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.
Community leaders have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces, including:
GitHub repositories (issues, pull requests, discussions)
Community forums and chat channels
Social media interactions related to NoTap
NoTap events and conferences
Email communications with community members
Any other NoTap-branded community spaces
This Code of Conduct also applies when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces.
Reporting
How to Report
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it to:

Your contact information
Names of any individuals involved
Description of the incident
Date and time of the incident
Links to relevant content (if applicable)
Any additional context or information
Confidentiality
All reports will be handled with discretion. We will respect confidentiality requests for the purpose of protecting victims of abuse.
Response Timeline
Acknowledgment: Within 24 hours
Investigation: Within 5 business days
Resolution: Varies based on severity (communicated during investigation)
Enforcement Guidelines
Community leaders will follow these guidelines in determining consequences:
1. Correction
Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional.
Consequence: A private, written warning providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.
2. Warning
Community Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.
Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved for a specified period. This includes avoiding interactions in community spaces and external channels. Violating these terms may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.
3. Temporary Ban
Community Impact: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior.
Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period. No public or private interaction with the people involved is allowed during this period. Violating these terms may lead to a permanent ban.
4. Permanent Ban
Community Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward or disparagement of classes of individuals.
Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.
Appeal Process
If you believe you have been unfairly sanctioned, you may appeal by:
Sending an email to [email protected] within 14 days
Include your case number (provided in enforcement decision)
Explain why you believe the decision was unfair
Provide any additional context or evidence
Appeals will be reviewed by community leaders not involved in the original decision.
